Results of Live Twitter Conversation On Disability & Cultural Management

We were delighted to support Kate Mitchell’s live Twitter conversation on Disability & Cultural Management yesterday (24th June 2021)!

In March 2021, Kate participated in a two day Disability and Cultural Management Training course with Accesso Cultura, Portugal supported by Arts for All and Cork City Council. The conversation brought to light many interesting points of view that are important for cultural centres to consider. There is always more to learn when it comes to inclusion and conversations like these are vital to understand how we can improve. The discussion began with the following topic:

A person who uses a wheelchair only becomes disabled when you put them in a space with stairs. What are considerations that should be made by cultural centres to promote autonomy for differently abled people?
